Buying Product

  • • H.A.N.G. do charge escrow fee between ₦200 to customers who are buying product. H.A.N.G. receives the escrow fee. If the trade is not completed, i.e buyers money is released from escrow back to the buyers bank account, H.A.N.G. takes no fee.
  • • When purchasing product from another customer on H.A.N.G., you are buying product at a competitive, affordable and moderated rate set by the customers and moderating team.
  • • Buyers are responsible for waybill of any product purchased. So waybill is optional, you can decide to pick it up or use our logistic partner company.

Selling Product

  • • H.A.N.G. charges fees to customers who sell product.
  • • The fee varies depending on the product price. See the chat below:

  • • This processing fee is deducted from your payment received from the buyer upon successful completion of the trade before sending the balance to the seller.

Sending Product

  • • H.A.N.G. uses third party as sending personnel, any interested buyer or seller can opt for the service for pickup service and/or delivery service. The two parties involved in the transaction will conclude who to pay for this service.
  • • Waybill is not compulsory, it is optional. But when buyers requests for waybill service, they are responsible for waybill of any product order for.

  1. When you choose your favorite item Click on the button “Chat” to contact the seller, and to ask whatever you want about this product
  2. Once you satisfied with the vendor’s information about the product, then click on Ready to make payment, then make payment through the payment gateway provided by the escrow service. After successful payment send the required files and documents as payment proof to the seller chat, and click the “Mark as Paid” button. If you don’t click it, the trade will expired after 10days and you forfeit the payment. Here are payment methods for buying and selling products:

H.A.N.G. escrow is there to keep your money and product safe from scammers. So how does the escrow work?
H.A.N.G. is a peer-to-peer product marketplace, a place where people can meet and safely exchange product for cash (money). Our vendors create offers and set a price. Once a buyer finds an offer that suits him/her, the trade begins. After successful discussion between both the buyer and the seller (vendor). The buyer makes payment to the escrow service, upload proof of payment for verification and click on PAID BUTTON. The buyer needs to wait for confirmation from the escrow before sending the product. The product reaches the buyer within 7 working days. At receiving the product, the buyer confirms the arrival of the product by clicking PAY THE VENDOR or REFUND MY MONEY. Refusal to click in the button the money is withheld till we receive mail from either of the 2 parties.
If the buyer decides that he does not want to purchase the product again he can simply cancel the trade before making payment.
If at any point there is a disagreement between the buyer and the vendor, the process moves along to DISPUTE. Our moderators will then step in and investigate all the info and take into consideration all the details available and make the decision of who deserves the money in our care (escrow service). Most transactions go through without the need for dispute, but with H.A.N.G. being a peer-to-peer marketplace, there will always be users that will try to take advantage of others. Disputes are useful when a trade does not go as planned. When a dispute is started, a moderator will intervene to settle the trade.
Disputes should be started in any of the following cases:
  1. If you are buying product, have followed the vendor instructions, and paid the vendor, but the vendor refuses to release product.
  2. If you are a vendor and the buyer is not responding and locking up your money in escrow.
  3. If the buyer of product forces you to release product first, without payment confirmation or pretending that payment was made.
  4. If one of the parties impersonates the moderator, attempts to steal your H.A.N.G. account details, or in any other way violate the Terms of Service.
A dispute can be started 3 hours after the trade begins except for the following cases:
  1. If you are a verified vendor, you can start disputes instantly.
  2. If the product has been received but the buyer refuses to use the paid button, then a dispute can be started within 24 hours..
Follow the below steps to start and win a dispute:
  1. Click Dispute.
  2. Please provide a clear reason for the dispute for the moderators from the list of reasons. Please explain in complete sentences and as clear as possible what happened.
  3. Please don’t flood the chat with dialogue or it will hold up the moderator.
  4. Wait for a moderator to join the dispute for investigation.
  5. Provide as much evidence as you can get, such as:
    • o Proof of payment (transaction receipt, a screenshot of payment, video proof)
    • o Proof of ownership of the product (transaction receipt from the logistic personnel, receipt from the store, online receipt
    • o Phone call recording of a conversation with 3rd parties customer support.
    • o Additional proof requested by the moderators’ team.
  6. The dispute will be investigated by the H.A.N.G. moderator team and a decision will be made according to evidence provided by both parties. H.A.N.G. moderators resolve disputes by evaluating trade terms, offer instructions, evidence of payment, trade chat interaction, user reputation, past trading history, as well as data submitted and or collected in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
What to do if you lose a dispute:
If you lose a dispute, it could be for several reasons. Usually, it’s for these two reasons:
  • • You were not able to provide clear reasons and evidence as requested by the moderator
  • • Provided evidence is not enough
We also check both of your trading history and if you were able to follow the trade instructions or offer terms of the previous trades. Once a decision has been made, this means the investigation has already been finalized.
Posting ads on H.A.N.G. is easy and fast, just take the following steps to proceed:
  1. Click on go to market and Post Ad
  2. Complete all the information about your item such as title, category, region, description, price and add photos (at least three photos needed for cars and phones).
  3. After filling out the required fields, click on “Post” button.
  4. Your advert will be published shortly once moderation process is completed.
  5. Once your advert is live, you will receive a notification email.
  6. Be ready to receive numerous incoming calls from your potential buyers. Good luck with your sales!
Your ad might have been deleted for a number of reasons ranging from bad and/or unrealistic price, unmatched description and/or title of the product picture, display of forbidden items, having more than one account posting same items. But if your ad is indicating pending, it means is in the process of being moderated. We will notify you by SMS or email when your ad is approved and live. If your ad says Rejected, In this case your ad was rejected because it was one of this Prohibited items on H.A.N.G.
Please, take a moment to review the items which are not allowed to be advertised on H.A.N.G.:
  1. Narcotics, steroids, and any drugs or medications that require a prescription from a licensed medical specialist
  2. Weapons
  3. Restricted military/police items
  4. Human organs
  5. Illegal/pirated copies
  6. Stolen property
  7. Code grabbing and lock picking devices
  8. Electronic equipment prohibited by the law
  9. Sexually-oriented service
  10. Loans, money transactions
  11. Multi-level marketing, pyramid, and matrix programs
  12. Network marketing and “Home Base Business” jobs
  13. Products (offers or services) prohibited to sell by the law
Please, consider the following rules:
1. Food and healthcare items should have a clearly marked expiration or ‘use by’ date.
2. Ads can't contain pictures of nudity.
Your ads remain on the site for 3-6 months (since the date of the last update) before they are automatically deleted or until you decide to deactivate them. Please note that you can update your ad if you haven’t sold your item.
